Highlights from September

We are somehow already in the last quarter of the year, so we'll waste no time diving into this month's work! We wrapped up work on our second project in as many months for new clients, Business NSW (more on that below!). It was a huge month for websites, at every stage of the process, with several discovery sessions, design signoffs and builds. Plus, we got our hot little hands on a number of print projects that we were stoked to hand over to our clients. We love seeing all our projects come to fruition, but there's something extra special about holding our work in our hands. Keep reading for our September wrap up.

SOMETHING WE MADE

An icon-ic partnership with Business NSW

Content on An icon-ic partnership with Business NSW: September Recap

Across August and September, we've had the pleasure of working with Business NSW on a range of projects. We kicked things off with their leadership conference for which we created a range of digital and printed collateral. The project included recreating a suite of icons and illustrations, bringing them in line with their corporate identity, and making them more modern and impactful in the process.

Next, we brought our expertise to Business NSW's internal messaging, with the development of a range of graphics for their enterprise vision. The designs will help Business NSW to unite their team under a shared vision, setting the course for the organisation for many years to come. We're also excited to get our next project with Business NSW underway this month.

If you'd like to create a more cohesive and impactful brand experience like Business NSW, get in touch!

SOMETHING WE SAW

Horsing around with Visit Iceland

Imagine you work for Visit Iceland. How do you get eyes on your website, and therefore increase tourism within your beautiful country? You teach a horse to write an email. Obviously.

The premise? "Disconnect from work and let the horses of Iceland reply to your emails while you are on vacation. (Seriously)."

While you're exploring glaciers, dipping into blue lagoons and gazing at the Northern Lights, you can relax knowing that your Out of Office email is being handled by the horses of Iceland. You can even pick which horse you'd like to handle your correspondence. Be careful who you choose, though; one of the horses is known to nap on the job.

Check out the awesome 'making of' video at the link below.

SOMETHING WE SAW

A brand refresh for Facebook

Facebook has announced a refresh of their branding, however you'd be forgiven for missing it.

The subtle changes include a thicker "f" in the icon, which now sits on a flat, darker blue circle.

The "facebook" wordmark has also seen a change, now rendered in their custom Facebook Sans font. According to Facebook, the goal was to make the logo "bolder, electric and everlasting."

The design of Facebook's 'reactions' has also been updated: "We adjusted colors to meet color accessibility guidance so that our iconography is legible at any size, flexible enough for different needs and easy for people to interact with.”

This won't be the last of the refresh, so keep your eyes peeled for more.

SOMETHING NEW

Meet the team: Jennifer

Content on An icon-ic partnership with Business NSW: September Recap

Say 'hello' to Jennifer! We introduced Jen when she joined our team earlier this year as a Junior Designer, and we thought it was high time we share a little more about her.

How do you spend your 9-5?

Each day I’m working between designing print or digital collateral, making websites and creating brand identities. I’ve also stepped up to help with marketing (making tiktoks) - I’m the youngest in the team so I can get away with my lame humour by disguising it as “gen z humour”. There is always something to do which keeps everyday interesting.

How do you spend your 5-9?

Outside of work I’m always jumping between my hobbies from sewing, jewellery-making, and crocheting (I cannot stick to one and become a master at it). I also try to stay active by going to the gym and bouldering and I’m ironically still scared of heights.
