Camden Civic Centre is a central hub for community gatherings, weddings, exhibitions, and events in the Camden region. As the building underwent a major renovation, the team needed a website that would match the refreshed, modern facilities and better serve the local community.

Challenges

The existing website was dated and difficult to navigate. Event information was scattered, and locals often found it hard to discover what was happening in their area. With the physical redevelopment underway, the online presence also needed to evolve — to be more intuitive, modern, and reflective of the upgraded Civic Centre.

Process

Our Approach to the Project

We began with a discovery session to understand the Centre’s goals, audience, and technical requirements. From there, we developed a design strategy focused on accessibility, ease of use, and alignment with the building’s new aesthetic.

During development, one of the key challenges was incorporating flexible event listings that could handle multiple event types — from local community functions to ticketed performances — without overcomplicating the CMS. We resolved this by designing a custom module that allowed staff to easily update event information, pricing, and links to external booking systems.

We collaborated closely with the Camden Civic Centre team throughout design and testing to ensure the site met both administrative and visitor needs.

Outcome

The result was a modern, responsive website that mirrors the renewed look and feel of Camden Civic Centre. The streamlined navigation and dynamic events section make it easy for the community to stay informed and get involved.
